ShowRider
ShowRider is a timeline-based show creation
program similar to Showtime, but specific for LAStudio-created
frames. ShowRider provides
friendly interface, true visual show development and wide range of
features.
ShowRider has 3 parts:
- Designer - for show development
-
Live - for live show performing
-
Player - the easiest in using show player
Designer

Show can include up to 64 tracks and can control up to 4
scanners. Each track contains image-line and optional effect lines.
Geometric effects: Rotation, Size, Position, Perspective,
Keystone.
Color effects: Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, RGB Levels
correction, Direct color change, Recolor to Bitmap, and opacity
control for Direct color change, Recolor to Bitmap and Color
oscillators
Window effects: Window X, Window Y, Window Z, Fog, Z Color fade
Attributes: Visible points, Scanrate
Clone: Clone effect
Special: Beams, Chaser, Projections (for multi-screen shows), TTL
Out and Channels
Objects: Image, Effect, Key effect, EBlock (Events Block), Color
oscillators.
Also included new line type (Link) for navigation inside the
track. This allows to mark a track segment and use a link to it in
any place at the same track.
With ShowRider, you can use a variety of methods of show
programming. The simplest and fastest way is where effects are placed
directly on the timeline. You don't need to make effect
-- just click on the timeline and effect event automatically appear. Later you can select
the events and place them into an event-block. An
event block is an object
that contains events. Later, you can work with these event blocks if desired.
ShowRider includes a new concept called Key
Effects.
Key Effects have over 60 effect types.

The Key Effect editor is a true 3D editor which has 4 freely
adjustable projections. Also the Key Effect editor has its own timeline
where you can define key states of effects. In contrast to other
solutions you don't need to create events on timeline - you just
change effect state and key-state (event) will be created
automatically. Each key-state has parameters like rate of change the
defines a speed of passing (acceleration) to it.
It is also possible
to define a custom acceleration trajectory for each key-state.
Each key-line has its own interpolation level that allows to smooth
effect trajectory. This is possible because the internal parts of the Key Effect engine uses non-linear 3rd degree curves. This is
far more powerful than
the classic way where
linear point-to-point motion is used. As a result you can define a motion
path by means of splines which are editable in 3D space.
In the new version ShowRider, there is a real-time laser visualization
system called "Show Room". Show Room has a user-defined scanner
that has its own location and orientation, beam parameters, and
special parameter that defines how scanner will be used - for beams
or for graphics. Each scanner of "ShowRider" may be connected to one
or more scanners of show room. Example you can see on screenshot -
two "beam" scanners are connected to one "scanner of ShowRider", and
third scanner is used for graphics and has its own screen.
There are 4 main types of synchronization.
- 1st - synchronization with PC timer.
- 2nd - synchronization with Audio CD. ShowRider supports
more than one CD ROM drive.
- 3rd - Audio/Video files played via Windows MCI system. Via MCI
system can be played audio files like mp3, wav, mid etc, and video
files like avi, mpeg, mov, etc.
- 4th - Audio files played via WinAmp.
