Interactive Messaging Unlimited is a software package from Pangolin that allows you to receive SMS text messages and project them in both laser and video.

What is SMS?

SMS is an acronym which means "Short Message Service". This is a feature that is built into mobile phones. Using the SMS feature, anyone with a mobile phone can send a short text message to others with a mobile phone. In the same way, anyone with a mobile phone can also send messages to Pangolin's Interactive Messaging Unlimited software.

Where are these SMS messages displayed?

The SMS messages are displayed as scrolling or non-moving text on a laser projector or as text on a large video screen, video wall or internal television circuit. There are numerous display options to control the font, scrolling speed, display timing and even animated or fixed backgrounds. And it is very easy to customize the display for a particular event or venue.

What are the possible applications?

Interactive Messaging Unlimited can be used for any application where it is desirable to project messages periodically from a remote location. We test marketed this system in trade show and billboard environments with good success.
We have also done extensive testing in discos and night clubs. In these environments we have had a tremendous level of acceptance. The young crowd is particularly in tune to this trendy type of communication method and they use it to project jokes, pick-up lines and general chatter to the club goers. Club owners can also use it to project drink specials and other advertisements.

What if someone sends a message with foul language?

Interactive Messaging Unlimited scans each message using very sophisticated filtering techniques. If a message is detected that has inappropriate language, you can opt to do any of the following:

  1. Replace the foul language with certain characters like "???".

  2. Block the message entirely.

  3. Block the user from sending any more messages for some period of time (or forever).

Interactive Messaging Unlimited also features a Manual mode, which allows you to monitor each message sent and accept or reject the message prior to display.

What additional features does it have?

Interactive Messaging Unlimited includes the ability to run voting and polling sessions with a real time bar graph of the results. It also features a database system that collects every message ever sent, and the phone number of the person who sent it. This database can be used later in a variety of ways. For example, you can use it to send a message (drink specials, ladies night tonight, etc.) to all phone numbers in the database. In this way, Interactive Messaging Unlimited provides a very focused and cost effective advertising means.

Will it work with non-GSM phones like cellular phones in the US?

YES! Interactive Messaging Unlimited is unique in that it supports both GSM and CDMA sources so it can be used almost anywhere in the world, including USA, Europe, South America and Asia.

What is the price of Interactive Messaging Unlimited and where do I get it?

The US Suggested List price of Interactive Messaging Unlimited for laser use is $995. This includes the Video output module (Video Messaging Unlimited). This price includes the software and a GSM or CDMA modem. (A Pangolin LD2000 system (Pro, Basic or Intro) is required to project messages in laser.) Interactive Messaging Unlimited is available now from Pangolin and Pangolin dealers.
