Introduction

Welcome to the 3rd issue of the Pangolin Post! The year 2010 has been quite a year for Pangolin, as we have continued our quest to create award winning products that are used to power your events.

This year has marked some great memories for us. We released Lasershow Designer QuickShow in November of 2009, and it is clear that users have grown to love this platform. Our goal of creating a system that was powerful, affordable, and easy to use was no easy task. There were at least six man years put into the development of QuickShow, but the end result has proven to be worth the effort. We are proud to announce that in 2010 QuickShow won the highest place awarded for ILDA’s Fenning Award for Technical Achievement.

In addition to developing award winning products, we here at Pangolin have been on the road, proudly exhibiting at a variety of tradeshows throughout 2010.

We started with the Photonics West show in San Francisco, where we displayed LASORB, the ESD protector for laser diodes. In March, we made the trip to Germany, to exhibit at the Prolight + Sound tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany, followed shortly after by PALME in Dubai. At these latter two shows, we featured our full product line, including LD2000, QuickShow, and our .NET hardware

Following these shows, we journeyed to the Far East, where we once again displayed LASORB, at the Laser Expo 2010, in Yokohama, Japan. After that, it was back to China, for PALM in Beijing. We also made appearances at the 2010 ILDA Conference hosted by LaserNET, aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s Destiny Ship… And this past September, our President and CTO; Mr. William Benner made a special appearances at the Laser-Freak conference in Regensburg, Germany, and at the SELEM conference in North Carolina to show Pangolin’s support for the community of laser hobbyists. We are just now returning from successful exhibitions at Prolight + Sound, Shanghai, and LDI in Las Vegas.

We would like to thank all the visitors who took the time to join us at these tradeshows throughout the year….We enjoyed seeing you there!

We are now connecting with people around the world using Social Media. We invite you to fan us on Facebook, watch our videos on YouTube, and Tweet on our Twitter page.

After much anticipation, we are proud to announce that the Pangolin Shows Portal is finally here! Laser Design Productions lights up the Super Bowl

During the Super Bowl XLIV half-time show, The Who lit up the skies of Miami at Sun Life Stadium performing a great array of their classic hits!

Laser Design Productions, along with Executive Producer Ricky Kirshner and Director Hamish Hamilton pulled together a production crew of some of the industry's best staging, lighting, sound and special effects.

Fourteen Pangolin QM2000.NET systems and eight full color lasers were positioned in eight of the radial carts. Eight additional lasers including four 50-watt yags and four of the full-color air cooled lasers were located upstage of the New Orleans Saints (NFC) bench. Diffraction, machidda and beam chases filled the arena with lasers. Fourteen Pangolin QM2000.NET systems were all networked at a central control under the main stage.

LaserNet Rocks Carnival Cruise Lines

LaserNet has hooked up Carnival Cruise Lines’ new 130,000-ton Carnival Dream to introduce the line’s first outdoor laser shows that will combine the latest in laser technology with rock music, to provide guests a unique and exciting nighttime entertainment experience.

Four all-weather LaserNet ScannerPro lasers are positioned high atop Carnival Dream’s Lido Deck. Each high-wattage laser is independently computer controlled using Pangolin LD2000 software that synchronizes the lasers in perfect time with the music, which is amplified by the 70,000-watt sound system of the ship’s Seaside Theatre LED screen. The Seaside Theatre’s jumbo-sized monitor also displays custom-designed graphics and original music videos of the various artists played during the show.
