Helium-neon lasers

"He-ne's" range from $200-1000 and have relatively small output power.

As of February 1998, they have surplus OEM Melles Griot cylindrical heads with apertures and Alden connectors; as well as Laser Drive power supplies for the heads. Heads: 3-4 mw for $70, 4-6 mw for $100, and 6-8 mw for $150. Power supplies: $60.

Argon and mixed gas lasers

These more useful lasers range from $3,000-15,000 for medium power, and $6,000-30,000 for high power. (Due to this expense, many lower-budget light show companies buy used or reconditioned argon and mixed gas lasers from resale companies.)
