Added information about a program called Fireworks
2000. This is a program written by Mike North using the
LD2000 SDK. It creates fireworks
animations, either in real time, or as a series of LD2000 frames.

Updated the
Pangolin LaserChat Forum.
We are also in the process of updating our server with more storage
space and faster download speeds. Please let us know if you see anything
that doesn't work correctly...

LASORB written
up by
Laser Focus World!
LASORB, a new component Pangolin
developed to protect laser diodes from ESD and power surges, was written
up this week by Laser Focus World.

We believe LASORB is a pretty significant development with respect to
improving the reliability and longevity of products using laser diodes.
Given the coverage it's received from Laser Focus World, it would seem
they agree. If you think this information could be of interest or value
to colleagues (or vendors) involved in the design of laser products, we

The long-awaited LD2000 version 5.0 web-update is
finally here! It can be downloaded from our
Updates page.
Note that only
the executable programs are included in this update. Frames and Shows
are not included as part of the update due to size constraints. (The
complete LD2000 version 5.00 installation is well over 2GB!) If you
are interested in having the latest frames and shows, we recommend you
purchase an Installation DVD set.

Pangolin sweeps the
ILDA Awards again!
This year more than half of the ILDA Awards for Artistic Achievement
were given to Pangolin users. Pangolin users did well in all
categories but were particularly strong in Beams/Atmospherics, Graphics
show, and Live Stage Performance. In the Beams and Atmospherics
category, Pangolin users won three-out-of-four awards and in the Live
Stage Performance category, Pangolin users won four-out-of-five awards.
Congratulations to everyone who won an ILDA Award this year.

Updated the Award-winning
products web page to include the information mentioned above and
also to reflect the fact that LASORB has won an ILDA
Technical Achievement Award for 2009. We are very pleased with this
award since there were 14 technical entries for the ILDA Awards this
year. LASORB won a Technical Achievement Award even though it isn't
exclusively a product for entertainment display applications.
